Castle Bookshop
Step into our bookshop
Behind the castle’s thick walls, in a partially below-ground room with a single window overlooking the castle terraces, you will find the bookshop of Slovenska Bistrica Castle. The bookshop is located in the north-eastern part of the castle, between the Castle Kitchen and the Renaissance staircase.
More than 5,000 books, magazines and publications – both second-hand and new
The bookshop in Slovenska Bistrica Castle holds several thousand books donated by various benefactors. The books in the Bookshop were donated posthumously to the Slovenska Bistrica Cultural Institute. As you browse carefully through the books, you may come across notes, clippings and dedications that reveal something about the person who once treasured the book. By placing these collections in the Bookshop, a love of books is preserved and the joy of reading is passed on to new owners.
Additional collection: CDs and VHS tapes
