THE GREEN CASTLE GNOME

First steps into the world of visual art with the castle gnome.

The castle’s youngest visitors join the green castle gnome to discover key works of Slovenian visual art in a playful and slightly mischievous way. The gnome also takes them into a real gallery, where they can try their hand at painting. The programme is designed to encourage children’s curiosity and active participation. It is suitable for children aged 4 to 8.

What was school like in the past?

Find out what school was like in the past during a lesson led by a strict teacher. The session is designed as an experience that combines spontaneous learning, exploration and fun. It is connected to the collection dedicated to storyteller Jože Tomažič, who was born in Veliko Tinje on Pohorje. The programme is suitable for different age groups and can be adapted to different types of visitors, from school groups to organised adult groups.

ON THE TRAIL OF THE WHITE LADY

Discover the life of the Counts of Attems.

As befits a castle, Slovenska Bistrica Castle has a ghost of its own. Muni, Franzi and Louis also knew the legend of the White Lady. With the help of a map and clues from the count’s youngest sons, we uncover stories preserved within the centuries-old castle walls.
