ABOUT THE EVENT
You are warmly invited to join us for an evening of stories about the Bistriško Pohorje region, its people, and the mythical creatures of these lands, as recorded by the local cultural worker Jože Tomažič (1906–1970). Listening to these tales, we will look back at how life used to be and catch a glimpse into a world where the miraculous was completely ordinary.
The stories will be brought to life through the storytelling interpretation of Valentina Fras.
ABOUT THE PERFORMER
Valentina Fras is a storyteller, literary editor, proofreader, author, and host. In her storytelling practice, she loves drawing from the local environment and reviving folk tales from Pohorje, Boč, Haloze, and the Dravinja Valley. She strongly believes in the wisdom and values embedded in folk narratives and in the extraordinary power of stories. That is why she shares them—to ensure the cultural heritage of these places remains alive in people’s memories.
